The Empowerment Course

Welcome

Welcome to your personal empowerment course. I have designed this, and all my courses, to be exploratory, transformational, and even a little fun.

I struggled with feeling a healthy sense of personal empowerment well into my 30's even after overcoming trauma and PTSD symptoms. This course was born out of that struggle as I learned the tools and truths needed to step into my power. If you also struggle with a sense of personal power please know you have all of my compassion. I know how exhausting it is to try day after day to create positive change and healthy self-worth from a place of disempowerment. That's why I'm so excited you're here. We can't change what happened to us, but we can move from victim to survivor and (pardon the horribly overused cliche here) rise from the ashes. This is called resillancy, and it only comes from moving through a difficult situation and becoming wiser and stronger as a result.

What is empowerment?

 

 

 

Empowerment is the ability to use your personal power. True empowerment has nothing to do with controlling everything, exerting your will over other people, or magically manifesting all of your ego's wants. It's about your free will and the ability to choose. This ability to choose is one of the things that gets taken away when experiencing a traumatic event. This course will help you to restore and strengthen this ability so you begin to feel confident and worthy again. You will be able to trust your decisions and your ability to create the positive changes you want to see in your life.

How to get the most out of this course

 

 

 

While reading and learning the information contained in each module is important, taking action and applying the information to your life is the best way to get the most out of this course. You must actually do the exercises in order to enjoy the benefits even if you don't feel like it or doubt you will get results. Try the exercise first before deciding any one tool won't work for you. Don't underestimate the power of the comfort zone you have built to protect yourself. All of the skills and concepts presented in this course lie outside of this zone. Because of this, you may feel resistance come up while exploring. This is completely normal. Learning how to sit and be with resistance and fear is another empowerment skill. Simply feel the resistance and proceed with the exercise. Give yourself permission to go at your own pace without giving up.  


   

 

 

How to use this course

 

 

 

Schedule an hour each week to complete a module and the accompanying exercises. I recommend completing 1-2 modules a week to fully process the lessons and complete the exercises. You won't see results if you rush through or don't use the tools in your everyday life. Each module builds on itself. Skills you learned in the last module will be used in subsequent modules so it's best to complete the modules in order. Go to the resource page and print all the worksheets and journal pages before you begin. Watch the video for the module and complete the exercises. Give yourself the time and space to notice subtle shifts and small steps in the right direction. You have this course for life so I hope you will come back and revisit any modules you need extra practice with.
